James Patrick “Jimmy” Page, OBE (born 9 January 1944) is an English musician. Songwriter, and record producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band Led Zeppelin.
Page began his career as a studio session musician in London. He was a member of the Yardbirds from 1966 to 1968. In late 1968, he founded Led Zeppelin.
Considered to be one of the greatest and most influential of all time. Rolling Stone magazine has described Page as “the pontiff of power riffing”. Ranked number two in Gibson’s list of “Top 50 Guitarists of All Time” and, in 2007, number four on Classic Rock’s “100 Wildest Guitar Heroes”. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Once as a member of the Yardbirds (1992) and once as a member of Led Zeppelin (1995). Uncut mag describes him as “rock’s greatest and most mysterious guitar hero”.
An English rock band formed in 1968 –Deep Purple. Considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as a progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in 1970. Including Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, they have been referred to as the “unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies”.
The Ticket was signed during Deep Purple’s 2004 concert tour; Peter Frampton and Thunder were the special guests backing the band, Jimmy Page Deep Purple Autographs.
